The Fleck 5800-SXT Series AOM Birm Iron Whole House Filter System by Pentair is designed to remove iron and manganese from water without using chemicals. It creates a small air pocket inside the main tank over the media, which oxidizes the iron and manganese, making them particles that can be trapped by the Birm media.

The cleaning cycle then removes these particles, repacks the media, and recreates a new air pocket.This system is suitable for water with a pH between 6.8 and 9.0. If your water's pH is outside these parameters, it's recommended to contact the supplier for advice on improving removal conditions.The Fleck 5800-SXT represents an advancement in self-cleaning filter technology, offering customizable, efficient, and multitasking capabilities that meet modern demands.Before installing this system, ensure that H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide) is removed from the water, and that there are no oils or polyphosphates present.

Chlorine levels should be below 0.5 ppm, and organic matter should be reduced below 5 ppm.For areas with inadequate courier services, the system can often be posted in two or three easy-to-assemble pieces.
