The Fleck 5800 SXT Water Softener is a high-efficiency water softening system designed for both residential and commercial use. It features a digital control valve with a large LCD screen for easy programming and monitoring. The system uses a resin-based exchange method to remove hardness, such as calcium and magnesium, from water supplies, and can also handle moderate amounts of ferrous iron and colloidal manganese.

The Fleck 5800 SXT control valve is known for its durability and efficiency, with fewer moving parts and a snap-together design that simplifies maintenance. It offers customizable settings for up to 20 different cycle steps, allowing for precise control over the water treatment process. The valve body is made of fiber-reinforced polymer, which is non-corrosive and UV-resistant, ensuring long-term reliability.  The system is available in different sizes to accommodate various water usage needs, with tanks up to 16 inches in diameter. It has a continuous service flow rate of 21 gallons per minute (GPM) and a backwash flow rate of 17 GPM.
